Pink, yellow, bright purple, various shades of blue. All along the streets now and outside the window at church there are blooms. Taking the Bechtel's dog for a walk this afternoon, I saw the beginnings of many gardens in a neighborhood I've never walked in before. A female cardinal in her rust robe swooped past giving her bright call and a pair of glossy grackles bantered from a power line. In the days since Easter morning life has burst forth lustily. If Christ's Resurrection didn't already correspond with Passover, surely the Church would have allied the date for Easter with spring, so stunning is the seasonal appearance of new life.
