Counseling Ministry
The Reverend Catherine McCollough has been providing pastoral counseling from within the welcoming, sacred space of Blacksburg Presbyterian Church since 2002. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Fellow in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors. Pastoral Counselors use the insights and principles of psychology, religion and theology to help people achieve wholeness and health. Catherine offers counseling for individuals, couples and families, and consultation for church leaders and congregations. Issues addressed might include normative life transitions, grief and loss, depression and anxiety, premarital counseling, couples’ counseling, adolescent difficulties, parenting skills, family therapy, aging concerns, spiritual questioning, women’s issues, professional identity questions and stress management. Catherine received a Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary and a Master of Social Work degree from the Rutgers University School of Social Work, and completed an internship at the Pastoral Counseling and Consultation Centers of Greater Washington, D.C. and has been a counselor for over 20 years. She is an ordained Minister of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church, U.S.A. Sunday School for All Ages - at 9:30 a.m. Worship - at 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary- Announcements are read at 10:50 a.m.
Summer Worship Time Begins on June 3, 2012- at 10:30 a.m. It is the intent to leave worship at this time come fall, but that is yet to be determined.
