Please join us for worship each Sunday morning at 11am (10am during summer). Pastors Catherine Taylor and Susan Verbrugge will lead an inspiring service. University students are invited to help with worship, greet people at the door, sing in the choir, or serve as an usher. If you have been ordained in your home church, let us know and we will give you a chance to serve communion. BPC partakes in communion the first Sunday of the month.
Are you missing your family while at Tech? The Adopt-A-Student program is a way for you to meet and fellowship with a BPC family while at school. How it operates is up to you and your adoptive family. You can meet as often as you like and in whatever capacity works best for you. We will work to set you up with the BPC family. Contact Mary Lee Hendricks for more information.
There is a student table in the narthex with information just for students. Please stop by and pick up information on upcoming events, Cooper House information (on-campus Presbyterian ministry), and other information. Please also fill out the student survey so we can get to know you and help you plug into BPC. The week before exams make sure to stop by and pick up your exam care package–snacks and treats to help you study.
We have children of all ages. Help is needed in the nursery, teaching Sunday School, Way Cool Wednesday activities, and youth group. Kids love college students. Contact Susan Hunter to get involved.
Local mission projects such as offered by our PRAYS (PResbyterians At Your Service) team–doing house repairs for those who need them, restocking the food pantry, or visits to the homebound are just some ways that you can get involved. Just a couple of hours can be most rewarding and provide a diversion from studies. Contact Bob Pienkowski for more information on community ministry. Or if you are interested in global mission or in working on peace and justice policy issues, contact Scott Smith, Chair of the Peace, Justice, and Global Mission Committee.
Are you interested in joining BPC? This is the Presbyterian way of becoming a member of Blacksburg Presbyterian without relinquishing your full membership in your home church. Contact either pastor for more information.
Please contact the University Committee Chair, Marti Snyder, for more information. Please also join the Facebook group: BPC’s University Students. Up-to-date information will be posted on Facebook.

BPC is one of four covenant churches that support Cooper House Campus Ministry, the Presbyterian Campus Ministry at Virginia Tech. For more information, contact one of the ministers or Jan McGilliard, Interim Campus Minister at 540-552-2473 or campusminister@pcusa-vt.org.
