Service Projects

Pork and Beans Collection
November 4-25

Our goal is 1,000 cans of pork and beans for the Montgomery County Christmas Store. The Christmas Store serves about one thousand low income households, enabling them to celebrate a dignified Christmas holiday. Please bring your cans of Pork and Beans to the church, and deposit them in one of the large green plastic containers located near the office and downstairs hallway. Monetary donations will also be accepted and used to purchase cans to help meet our goal. Please mark “Pork and Beans” on checks left in the offering plate or office.

The Baby Shop Tree
December 2-30

The Baby Shop Tree helps us stock up on items we are in need of to meet the needs of our clients. Please take a tag (or two or three). Once you have purchased the items, bring your tag and items back and place them under the tree in the Gathering Space at BPC. They do NOT need to be wrapped.

The Baby Shop is located in Christiansburg and is a ministry of St. Paul United Methodist Church of Christiansburg and Blacksburg Presbyterian Church. The Shop serves families in Montgomery County and Radford City who have at least one child and qualify for certain social services. We are a donations-based project run by community volunteers.

Woodchucks Food Collection
November 15-December 15

Screen Shot 2018-11-01 at 11.57.33 AM.png

During the cold winter months, supporters of the BPC Firewood Ministry, Woodchucks, are busy delivering firewood to those who can pay and to those who cannot. During this season, we would like to provide some additional warmth and cheer to the neediest of our recipients in the form of food, and you are invited to participate in this ministry to our community. Collection bins have been placed around the church for your donations.
